Well another week has come and gone and this week was officially declared Hipster Awareness Week! Hipsters are people that tend to have their own sense of style and I have never really known exactly what a hipster is so this is a quest to discover who hipsters really are.

Tip # 1: Hipsters must live by this wonderful saying that "if you like you should put a beanie on it!" The ultimate way to wear a beanie as a hipster is to have it barely hanging on your head, this is known as a "slouchy" beanie and is all the rage in the world of those whom are hip.

Tip # 2: Hipsters love to wear things that are very tight. Tight jeans are all the rage and if you roll up the tight jeans at the bottom then you are very "hip." Another realization that I came to this week as far as celebrating an unknown life of a Hipster is that they are either one or two things A: Freezing all the time. or B: Warm clothes are just more stylish.

Tip # 3: Hipsters always color coordinate in some ways and these things that the women folk refer to as "accessories" are very important in becoming a legit Hipster. Things such as accessories are classified as glasses of all shapes and colors, scarfs, beanies, jackets, etc. The more the that you have the better you look.

Throughout my week as a Hipster I realized that I did not shave once, never let a hair product touch my normally groomed hair, and that I was very noticed around campus. Clearly it was a great way to be noticed and it was almost a way of taking the easy way out and looking fashionable while doing it. The life of a Hipster is a great one and now that I have had an inside look at this style that is becomming all the rage I have a new found respect for these wonderful people. Stay tuned for the next inside look to a style change!

Kissing, Halloweeners!

Wow! Where to being?! This week has been an exciting one to say the least. It started out with a very successful true badger night where 800+ people attended just to do some macking with hundreds of other people watching, all while listening the loud dongs the Bell Tower... Romantic! We kicked it off with  a dance that was a RAGING SUCCESS!! We pretty much have dominated the dancing scene this year. The most eventful part of the night besides watching a bunch of college kids lust for one another was that at the strike of 12 there was a streaker in his full glory sharing himself to the world. It was noticed by only a few but the word of the unknown streaker has spread quickly and he has since become a beakon for our campus!
As if the beginning of the week was not eventful enough one of the biggest and most anticipated events of the year was lat night, the Halloween Dance. Scary decorations filled the sometimes hollow and vacant Blue Gym of the AC and not long after 1200+ college students filled the vacant space to get their groove on. It was a BLAST! There were many creative costumes and many of the students took it seriously. THe SBA team dressed up and all looked fantastic!

I ended up dressing as a Hillbilly and it is quite sad how well I pulled it off, Chelle was a Student Life Advisor and looked great as usual (after all that is a requirement to be part of our team [looking great]).There was a costume contest and there were some great costumes that ended up taking home the prizes. After the dance was over it was clean up time and then home for some rest. Clearly the 'life' of someone affiliated with Student Life is a busy one, but one that we will always grab a hold of and hang on to forever! Stay Tuned for more exciting activities!
